Milos Raonic claims first title with shock win

Milos Raonic enhanced his growing reputation by stunning world No9 Fernando Verdasco 7-6, 7-6 to win the final of the San Jose Open and claim his first Tour title.

The 20-year-old Canadian, who reached the fourth round of the Australian Open, today rose 25 places in the rankings to No59 on the back of his win over the top seed from Spain.

"This is amazing," said Raonic. "I can't stop smiling about it."
