Moody aims Magnus at King's Stand but will forgo Golden Jubilee

Australian trainer Peter Moody has vowed not to get greedy if Magnus earns another tilt at Royal Ascot next month.

The colt, who was third in the King's Stand behind Miss Andretti last year before flopping in the Golden Jubilee Stakes four days later, will have to cement his claims with a good performance in the Kris Flyer International Sprint in Singapore on Sunday.

He will be up against two other Aussie sprinters in Takeover Target and the Perth-trained Universal Ruler.

"I won't stuff up this time," Moody said. "Last year I ran him in the King's Stand with the second race (Golden Jubilee) in mind, but this time his race will be the King's Stand only. I won't make the same mistake again."

He added: "I'll wait and see how he runs here but he seems to be in the form of his life."

Takeover Target looks almost certain to bring trainer Joe Janiak back to England for a third successive year.

He won the King's Stand in 2006 before finishing third in the Golden Jubilee and the veteran sprinter narrowly failed to win the Golden Jubilee last year when he was pipped by Soldier's Tale after having looked the winner inside the final furlong.
