Mort calls the Toon

Business adviser Chris Mort will handle Newcastle United's daily affairs until chairman Freddy Shepherd returns after illness.

The 41-year-old lawyer has been appointed deputy chairman by new owner Mike Ashley and is already working closely with manager Sam Allardyce.
