Koumas: On the move?
Wales midfielder Jason Koumas, Senegal striker Diomansy Kamara, England Under-21 defender Curtis Davies and Wembley skipper Paul Robinson are four who may be on their way as Mowbray hinted at big changes at The Hawthorns.
Davies, 22, was the subject of an £8million bid by Portsmouth 12 months ago and has also attracted interest from Tottenham and Newcastle. Speculation has surrounded 26-year-old Kamara all season, with Middlesbrough linked prominently and Roma also said to be interested, while Robinson and Koumas have both spoken of their desire to play in the Premiership.
Mowbray, who took over from Bryan Robson in October and has worked for the most part with his predecessor's players, appears resigned to losing them and said: "Every manager wants to bring in his own players and put his own stamp on a team.
"Some players will be lost along the way. I want players who I know want to be here. Just because you have these names on a piece of paper doesn't mean you have a great team. We need to get back to the drawing board." Robinson, 28, said: "I'm still a West Bromwich player. I'm signed up for another two years. I'll get my head down and work hard but I want to play Premiership football and sometimes you can't take that from players if the opportunity comes up."
Koumas, who is being tracked by Celtic manager Gordon Strachan after being named the best player in the Championship at the Football League Awards in March, praised Mowbray but gave a clear indication he would not be staying for another campaign in the second tier.
The 27-year-old said: "I love playing for the gaffer. I've enjoyed every training session we've had this year. He's so positive. But I'm at an age when I want to step up. I'm desperate to play in the Premiership but it's up to the chairman."
