Obinna Nsofor, left, of Nigeria is tackled by Anthony Vanden Borre of Belgium during Olympics semi-final
Nigeria striker Victor Obinna Nsofor will today sign for on a season-long loan from Inter Milan.
San Siro boss Jose Mourinho signed the 21-year-old from Chievo yesterday before immediately agreeing to send Obinna to learn his trade in the Barclays Premier League.
He will be reunited at Goodison Park with Victor Anichebe. The pair played together at the Olympics and returned from Beijing with silver medals after defeat in the final to Argentina.
The hot prospect scored three goals in six starts at the Games wheras Anichebe was restricted to five appearances off the bench.
Obinna had demanded a move and Inter move quickly to wrap up a deal for a player they had part-owned since Chievo brought him to Italy from African side Enyimba in 2005.
West Ham were also interested in a loan, while Roma and Napoli wanted to sign him on a permanent deal before the Italian champions agreed a three-year contract with the pacy attacker.
Some reports in Italy suggest Everton will be able to make the signing permanent next summer for an undisclosed fee.
Before leaving Chievo, Obinna told the BBC earlier this week: 'There are so many offers for me and I think it's high time I leave. I've played three seasons there and I think I've helped them.
'I want to go to a big club that will bring up more values and bring up the skills and that talent which I have in me.'
Obinna does not need a work permit as he holds an Italian passport. Everton boss David Moyes is finally starting to land targets after a summer of frustration in the transfer market.
This week has seen the club recruit Denmark defender Lars Christian Jacobsen and Ecuador midfielder Segundo Castillo.
The club are also fighting Portsmouth to sign Atletico Madrid's Brazil midfielder Thiago Motta.
