Moyes warns Fulham: You'll get the backlash from our UEFA Cup defeat

Everton boss David Moyes has warned Fulham to beware a backlash from his side's UEFA Cup exit at Goodison Park.

Moyes brings Everton to Craven Cottage on Sunday and he expects his side to bounce back from their defeat by Fiorentina on penalties by maintaining their push for a Champions League place against Roy Hodgson's strugglers.

Great goal against Fiorentina: Mikel Arteta

Chasing a 2-0 deficit last night, goals from Andrew Johnson and Mikel Arteta brought the Blues level on aggregate.

However, the Italians advanced to the quarter-finals 4-2 on penalties. Ayegbeni Yakubu and Phil Jagielka both failed to convert their spot kicks, leaving Mario Santana to strike the decisive blow.

It was cruel "We will dust ourselves down and move on. We have nine Premier League games left and we can look forward in a positive frame of mind as we are playing well."

He added: "I am disappointed we have not made it through. But it was some effort.

"Maybe it comes down to missed opportunities - we should have scored a third goal in the 90 minutes.

"We battered them. Their goalkeeper got lucky a couple of times and made some good saves.

"We did a lot more to them than they did to us in Florence."

Fiorentina coach Cesar Prandelli thought his side had finished the stronger. He said: "I am very satisfied, especially with our penalties, as it was a hard game."
