My boys' brigade: With kids like these I won't be buying a new striker, says Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger has revealed he has no plans to buy a striker this summer after watching his young guns outblast Emmanuel Adebayor and Robin van Persie during a 3-1 win at Bundesliga side Stuttgart last night.
Strike pair Adebayor and Van Persie were given their first run-outs of pre-season but the heavyweight performances came from the rising stars of pool of forwards.
Flaming surprise: Jens Lehmann is known as a fiery character, but even he found the pre-match pyrotechnics a bit too hot as he warmed up for the visit of his old Arsenal pals
The hosts, who signed Arsenal keeper Jens Lehmann this summer, took an early lead. But Carlos Vela, 19, recorded his fourth strike in two games with a well-taken equaliser and Nicklas Bendtner, 20, followed up his 45-minute four-goal haul in Austria on Monday by adding a clinical second goal minutes afterwards.
Another second-half substitute, Jack Wilshere, 16, added to his growing reputation by dispatching the third with all the elan of a seasoned performer.
'We're not as short of strikers as people thought,' said Wenger. 'Vela is integrating very well into the team and Bendtner was already a force at the end of last season . . . and he will confirm that this year.
'Overall, we are still maybe one player short. But up front we don't need anybody.'
Adebayor, whose future remains in doubt, looked lethargic and heavy-legged during his first Arsenal appearance in two-and-a-half months, and was withdrawn at half-time, along with Van Persie.
In front of 50,000 vocal fans at a packed Mercedes-Benz arena, the senior duo were left in the shade by their young colleagues, who showed the value of their greater sharpness after appearing in each of Arsenal's first three pre-season games.
Adebayor's lack of match fitness was also evident in the number of occasions he was caught offside, which would have irritated Wenger, who is unhappy at the poor timing of many of the £25million-plus striker's runs.
Wenger signalled that last night was the start of Arsenal's serious business by fielding an almost full-strength team after three gentle warm-ups against weak opposition, William Gallas, £11.5m new signing Samir Nasri, Emmanuel Eboue and Johan Djourou were all given their first run-outs of pre-season.
Only Cesc Fabregas and Kolo Toure were missing from what Wenger might regard as his first-choice starting XI. And the Arsenal squad will be bolstered further when their new signing Amaury Bischoff, the Portugal Under 21 midfielder who arrives for an undisclosed fee from Werder Bremen, links up with the touring party when they return to London tomorrow.
