New results give Blade Runner hope

Oscar Pistorius, the double-amputee sprinter, has renewed hope of running at this year's Olympic Games after scientific tests in the U.S. contradicted results that caused him to be banned by the IAAF.

The South African, who runs on prosthetic blades, revealed that the same tests which ended in his ban from able-bodied competition produced "completely different" results when conducted last week in Houston.

Full of hope: Pistorius

His lawyers will present them at his case at the Court of Arbitration in Sport soon.

Pistorius, nicknamed Blade Runner, said: "We're very optimistic. I'm still hoping that I can make the cut-off to qualify for the Olympics but time is tight and I only have until mid-June."
