New Twente boss McClaren set to lose star midfielder Engelaar to Schalke

Schalke general manager Andreas Muller expects his club to complete the signing of FC Twente midfielder Orlando Engelaar this week.
The Holland international is reportedly keen to link up with former Twente coach Fred Rutten, who was recently replaced by ex-England manager Steve McClaren.
In high demand: German club Schalke claim they are close to signing Holland midfield star Orlando Engelaar
Muller said: "I hope that we can sort out the transfer this week. Orlando only wants to come to us, he had clearly earlier already opted for Schalke. That is our trump card."
Eredivisie outfit Ajax and a number of English Premier League clubs have been linked with a move for Engelaar, but Muller is adamant he is on his way to the Bundesliga.
He said: "I know that he is very sought-after. But Orlando is no longer . I am certain that he is coming to us."
Engelaar excelled in a holding midfield role at Euro 2008, playing a key role in Holland's stunning group wins over Italy and France before their quarter-final defeat to Russia.
Muller also confirmed that Schalke have not received any approaches for either Ivan Rakitic or Jermaine Jones, who have been linked with moves to Chelsea and Manchester United respectively.
"Up until now no club has waved a fat cheque for millions in front of me," he said.
"Basically we don't want to sell either, and also Schalke is not the worst place for them."
