Newcastle plot 7m raid for Galatasaray and Turkey midfielder Arda

Newcastle are ready to test Galatasaray's resolve with a £7million bid for Turkey midfielder Arda Turan.

Toon manager Kevin Keegan is keen to land the 21-year-old who has been compared with Galatasaray and Romanian legend Gheorghe Hagi.

He scored his first hat-trick as a Galatasaray player against Sivasspor on May 4.

Keegan wants to push through a deal for Arda before Euro 2008, but Galatasaray manager Adnan Polat is putting up a fight to keep his squad together, according to the Daily Mirror.
