The Middleham trainer also had Cheltenham winner Joes Edge, Aces Four, Kitski and New Alco entered in the Fairyhouse race, but he relies on the six-year-old novice who was going really well when falling at the third last in Cheltenham's four-mile amateur riders' chase last time.

In hunt for bonus: Joes Edge
Murphy, who bought the French-bred out of an Auteuil claiming chase for a mere £6,000 on behalf of a 12-strong syndicate run by Yorkshire owner David Parry, was on the mark with Noir Et Vert at Kelso yesterday and he said: "He was a 135-rated hurdler last season and won four races. He has placed form in novice chases and ran well against Nil Desperandum in the Eider.
"He was travelling well when he came down at Cheltenham and wants extreme distances.
"We're well enough handicapped in Ireland and he'll handle the good ground. He just took his eye off the third last at Cheltenham.
"Joes Edge definitely runs in the Aintree National (probably his only runner) and we have our eye on the £250,000 bonus for going onto the Betfred Gold Cup as well.
"He's in tremendous form and I'm very happy with him."
"New Alco will run in the three-mile handicap chase at Aintree while it is doubtful if Kitski will get into the race at Fairyhouse. Aces Four has plenty of weight in that race."
Other English-trained raiders likely to run in the Irish Grand National are Nicky Henderson's Juveigneur and Noel Chance's Distant Thunder, who were beaten in a photo-finish when second and third to Joes Edge in the William Hill Trophy Chase at Cheltenham last time.
