No Berbatov, no Manchester United title, says Sunderland boss Roy Keane

Backing: Dimitar Berbatov

legend Roy Keane insisted Sir Alex Ferguson must sign Dimitar Berbatov before the end of the transfer window if he is to retain the Premier League title.

boss Juande Ramos hinted yesterday that a deal for Berbatov to move away from White Hart Lane could be sorted in the next 48 hours - but the £28million switch will not go through until they have a replacement.

And former United skipper Keane, now manager at Sunderland said: 'For me, it's Chelsea this year. There's no African Cup of Nations in January, they've got a new manager, they've bought one or two players and, for all the ups and downs last year they still nearly nicked it.

'But if United get a top striker in, they've got a chance.'
