No FA action against Scolari

The Football Association will not be taking any action against Luiz Felipe Scolari over the Chelsea manager's comments about referee Mike Dean at the weekend.

Scolari called for the official to apologise after claiming he made mistakes during his side's 2-1 Barclays Premier League defeat by Arsenal.

Dean allowed a Robin van Persie equaliser to stand despite suspicions of offside.

The Football Association believe Scolari qualified his remarks and that he had not questioned the integrity of the referee.

A spokesman said: "We have studied the remarks of Luiz Felipe Scolari and will not be taking any further action."

Scolari's anger was exacerbated by the fact Salomon Kalou was flagged offside when in a similar position earlier in the game, a decision he felt was less clear-cut.

The Brazilian initially appeared to hint that he felt Dean's "mistakes" could have been made deliberately before categorically stating that was not the case.

When asked if he thought the mistakes were intentional, he said: "Maybe, I don't know.

"Because he is a man, maybe it is a mistake but two times the same mistake?"

But he added: "Two honest mistakes? I think so. Not deliberate. I don't think they came here deliberately to make mistakes to us.

"I don't want the referee to make something different, but only for him to look at the television and see it was wrong, and the linesman.

"They are not God. They made a mistake and I understand. I don't want three points, I just want 'sorry'."
