O'Neill challenges Villa to see off Everton and snatch UEFA Cup slot

Martin O'Neill has challenged his Aston Villa players to grab their UEFA Cup chance after a 5-1 demolition of struggling local rivals Birmingham.

Victory at Everton next Sunday would take Villa above David Moyes's side into fifth place on goal difference.

O'Neill said: "We have scored 15 goals in the last three games and put ourselves in with a chance of Europe. We are going to Goodison Park knowing we have to win and we have to try to make the most of the opportunity."

Ashley Young and John Carew scored twice as Villa claimed their biggest winning margin against Birmingham since 1960.
