O'Neill lines up Hennessey for Villa if Carson deal falls through

Martin O'Neill is continuing to monitor Wolves goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey and watched him in person at Coventry City on Saturday.

With Scott Carson's future in the balance with Villa reluctant to meet Liverpool's £10m valuation, O'Neill is in the market for a new goalkeeper.

O'Neill will not make a decision on whether he wants to keep Carson permanently until next month.

He said: "We have Scott until the end of the season and when we talked about it in the first place, there was no decision going to be made one way or another until then."'
