Ben Maher praises Tripple X's heroics

Showjumper Ben Maher has spoken of how impressed he was with the inexperienced horse he rode to win the World Cup qualifier at the London International Horse Show.
"It was unexpected," said Maher, 28, who won at Olympia on Tripple X III on Sunday. "The horse is quite young and inexperienced. He has won a four-star Grand Prix but not [one] at this level.
"He's come on a lot in the last six months. We've been nurturing him. He trusts me. He felt good all week. He felt like he was ready to win a big one. The course suited him and the jumping suited him."
Maher added that the inspiration for this horse's name came from the movie. "The film Triple X had just come out," explained Maher. "It's a good name for him, it suits him."
