Pakistan are over India final agony, says coach

Pakistan coach Intikhab Alam believes his team have grown stronger after their heartache in the first World Twenty20 Final as they prepare for a rematch against India at a sold-out Brit Oval.

In 2007, Pakistan lost by five runs to their bitter rivals but Alam is confident his side will show their mettle in their final warm-up match for this year's tournament.

"I was commentating when we lost and it was very disappointing," said Alam. "I'm sure the boys have got over what happened and after two years we are now more mentally prepared to handle such a situation."

In their first warm-up game against South Africa on Monday Pakistan were hammered by 59 runs but Alam is not panicking.

"I wasn't really proud of our performance but it takes at least a week to get attuned to the conditions and there is nothing to be worried about," he said.
