Palace midfielder Hall facing police quiz over attack

Rising Crystal Palace star Ryan Hall is being investigated by police over an alleged assault in a five-a-side match.

The 20-year-old midfielder has been accused of helping team-mates beat up a security guard at the Goals Soccer Centre in Elmers End, on Tuesday.

Matthew Ballard, 19, suffered head injuries and was taken to Croydon's Mayday Hospital by paramedics.

A Palace spokesperson said: "We are investigating further the alleged incidents relating to Ryan Hall. If the story is substantiated, we will take the matter further."
