Phillips set to make the Midlands switch for a two-year deal at St Andrews

Kevin Phillips is set to have a medical at Birmingham City this week before completing a free transfer switch from West Bromwich Albion.

Former England striker Phillips, who will be 35 later this month, has been offered a two-year deal by Birmingham.

Albion were only prepared to hand him a 12-month deal with a second year appearance related.

Phillips had last ditch talks with Albion manager Tony Mowbray last week but is still expected to move to St Andrew's.
