Picture special: City boys Richards, Petrov and Benjani unveil new kit

Manchester City have gone back to the future with their new black and red away
shirt.

The kit, launched by the Blues today, was a feature of the 1960s and 1970s but
has been overlooked in recent years as City tried other options. But the Eastlands outfit have opted to revive the trend for the new season.

A distinctive light blue home shirt, complete with a white blaze across the
left-hand shoulder, has also been launched.

Both shirts will boast the Thomas Cook logo following confirmation of a one-year sponsorship deal yesterday, with the home shirt due to be worn for the first time when City tackle AC Milan in the prestigious pre-season match at Eastlands on August 9.
