Injury-hit Tottenham captain Ledley King is on course to be fit for the start of the season.
The England centre-half joined in the first day of pre-season training with the rest of his team-mates yesterday and showed no ill affects from the knee problems which have troubled him the past 18 months.
King sat out the final six games of the last campaign to rest the injury so he could begin his rehabilitation and he is set to reap the benefits.
A couple of strikers were notable by their presence - wantaway vice-captain Robbie Keane and Manchester United target Dimitar Berbatov.
