Players will play where I tell them, insists Sunderland boss Keane

Sunderland manager Roy Keane is ready to upset his strikers as he prepares for tomorrow's clash at Fulham.

Former Newcastle striker Michael Chopra was hoping to play upfront for last week's clash with West Ham after his matchwinner at Aston Villa the preceding week, but he was used as a right winger instead.

The role as Kenwyne Jones's partner went to Daryl Murphy, who then missed a late golden opportunity to win the game, just minutes before being substituted. No one celebrated Andy Reid's 96th minute winner with more gusto than the Ireland international.

Talking tough: Sunderland manager Roy Keane says he has no interest in player demands

But Keane knows one will be disappointed when he names his side at Craven Cottage tomorrow.

And he said: "Daryl is recovered. He's fine, he's still alive and he seemed fine on the flight to Spain on Saturday night. Strikers miss chances and even if we'd drawn there is every chance he'd be involved at Fulham.

"He's scored some wonder goals for us, especially last year when he got some important goals. There is no problem with strikers missing chances.

"Michael can prefer any position all he wants. I'd prefer to be top of the league but we're not. He's done an absolutely brilliant job for the team and the team always comes first. He's done well in midfield for Carlos. I'm not interested in players' individual demands. I never have been and never will be."

Veteran Dwight Yorke is out with a knee injury he suffered in training on Thursday after Sunderland returned from their three-day training camp in Spain. "It was a good trip," Keane added. "Everything we could have wished for."
