Pompey and Newcastle leading chase for £6m PSG defender Digard

Newcastle and Portsmouth are leading the chase for Paris St Germain's Didier Digard.

The France Under 21 international has been one of the shining lights in a disappointing season for the French club and he has attracted a posse of Premier League scouts.

The midfielder is rated at £6million and Kevin Keegan's Newcastle, willing to meet the asking price, are in the driving seat.

Portsmouth are interested because they are wary of losing midfielder Sulley Muntari but Juventus and Liverpool are also eyeing him.
