Porto in ‘fix’ probe

Two games involving Porto while Jose Mourinho was manager are being investigated by Portuguese authorities in connection with alleged match-fixing.

The games in question came in the 2003-04 season when he led Porto to the title before moving to Chelsea. Mourinho himself is not being investigated.

Operation Golden Whistle, which began after a tip-off, is centred on payments allegedly made to referees to fix matches.

Six other clubs — including Benfica — were involved in the suspect matches.
