Johnson, 23, discovered his had been taken from his washbag, while 27-year-old Ashdown kept his medal in his jacket, which was taken from a hotel where Pompey celebrated their 1-0 victory over Cardiff in Saturday's Wembley final.
Former Chelsea star Johnson admits he is "devastated" and is hoping the FA will make a replica if the medal is not returned.

Cup and away: Glen Johnson celebrates with his Portsmouth team-mates at Wembley
"I'm devastated, this was the highlight of my career, you can't imagine how much the medal means to me," said Johnson. "It is something you want to treasure for your whole life and show your kids and grandkids.
"I put my washbag in my (hotel) room, before packing it into my main bag on Sunday morning before the parade (through Portsmouth).
"We checked out of the rooms on Sunday morning and left our bags in a safe place to collect them after the parade. But when I got back to the hotel and checked to look at my winners' medal, it was gone."
Ashdown was similarly disappointed.
He said: "The medal was in its box in one of my jacket pockets. The jacket was hanging on the back of a chair while I enjoyed a drink at the hotel with some of the other players and their families."
Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie appealed for the souvenirs to be returned.
"If anyone has taken these medals away they are depriving someone of their lifelong dream," he said. "The medals appear to have been taken from the hotel, which is unfortunate because the hotel looked after us so well for the three days we were there.
"Clearly someone has come in from outside knowing that theses medals were about and focused on taking them.
