The Manchester United boss is offering £6million along with unsettled defender Wes Brown and French striker Louis Saha, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

Brown, who is believed to be keen to leave Old Trafford in search of regular first-team football, has been strongly linked with a move to Newcastle.

Saha meanwhile has been forced to deny accusations he's soft due to him missing a series of games with a variety of niggling injuries.

Berbatov, who was outstanding for Spurs against Manchester City last night, has said all the right things about his desire to stay at White Hart Lane but a prospective move to Old Trafford would be expected to turn the Bulgarian's head.

Reports this weekend suggested Nani must be part of any package heading to White Hart Lane if discussions are to become serious.

Spurs sporting director Damien Comolli was interested in Nani earlier in the year but missed the boat when United also latched on to the talents of the 21-year-old midfielder which were on display with Sporting Lisbon.

But Sir Alex does not want the young Portuguese to leave.
