Redknapp is looking to bring in one more recruit to strengthen his Fratton Park squad but has insisted his best players will not be sold.
Newcastle are among the clubs interested in signing former Arsenal centre-half Sol Campbell but Redknapp wants to keep hold of the defender even though he has strength in depth in that department.
"We want to keep our best players and Sol Campbell is certainly a top player for us," said Redknapp. "There's lots of speculation but he signed a two-year contract and we expect him to be here for two years.
"There's a year left on his contract so we'll see how he goes. He's a major part of our plans and we need him here. To maintain progress you need to keep your best players."
Redknapp also expects Kanu to score a new deal in the next ten days and added: "We've been speaking to him for several weeks and chief executive Peter Storrie has managed to thrash out a deal with his agent and with Kanu. He'll sign for one year with an option for a second if he plays 20 games."
Manchester City have agreed a £10m deal with Olympiakos for Mexico striker Nery Castillo and are also among the clubs who have been linked with Bayern Munich striker Roque Santa Cruz.
Busy City boss Sven Goran Eriksson is also keen on Nantes midfielder Emerse Fae, who is also wanted by Reading, but will have to pay £2.7m for services.
Phillipe Senderos could be the next Arsenal player heading out of the Emirates Stadium exit as Juventus are preparing a £3m bid while Bolton are keen on Sweden winger Christian Wilhelmsson.
Blackburn striker Jason Roberts has pledged his future to the club and claims team-mate Benni McCarthy is also staying at Ewood Park while Hull are prepared to pay a £600,000 bid for Sunderland striker Stern John.
