Portsmouth target: But Pompey boss Harry Redknapp fears Craig Bellamy will go elsewhere
Tevez will head back to his home in South America next week and wait to discover where he will be playing next season.
The Hammers are desperate to extend his stay at Upton Park but Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Spurs are more than interested in offering him the chance to star on the European stage while the 23-year-old striker won't be short of offers from La Liga.
The key to his destination could boil down to who actually owns him. West Ham insist he belongs to them but Media Sports Investment are offering him around for £31million.
"I have stopped learning English as I don't know where I am going to end up next season. But yes, it was hard to settle," Tevez said.
"The language is an issue – and I will learn English if I stay in this league – and, of course, the football here is different compared to Brazil or Argentina. In my opinion, it's the most difficult competition in the world. That may be why so few people make it over here."
Martin O'Neill has vowed he will not rip apart his Aston Villa squad in the summer - even though seven players may be heading out of the club.
Lee Hendrie, Jlloyd Samuel and Eric Djemba-Djemba are certain to be playing elsewhere next season and Liam Ridgewell, Aaron Hughes, Gavin McCann and Thomas Sorensen may move on to seek regualr first-team football.
But O'Neill insisted: "I'm genuinely not in any rush to let players go. There's always the possibility of taking on someone who's not as good as someone you've got. It's not my intention to cut a swathe through the squad - my intention is to add to it and then see what happens."
Sylvain Distin has joined Joey Barton in taking a swipe at Manchester City's staggering lack of success by declaring he is determined to leave when his contract runs out next month.
"I am 29 years old and I still have ambitions. I don't want to be fighting relegation season after season," he insisted.
Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp has revealed he wants to bring the former Newcastle and Paris St Germain central defender to Fratton Park but said: "I like Distin. He's a good player, a great free transfer for someone. But I think he's got plenty of offers.
"He's big, strong and quick – one of the best free transfers in the country this summer. He's a top player."
Redknapp has been linked with summer swoops for Craig Bellamy, Nicolas Anelka and Jermain Defoe to bang in the gaols which have been sorely lacking at the South Coast club this season.
But he does not fancy his chances of landing any of them and added: "'I tried to get Anelka last year. He's a good player, a top player. I don't see that happening, though. He'll probably be more expensive than last year. He's scored his goals and has done quite well.
"Jermain Defoe would be lovely but I don't think so. As for Craig Bellamy, there's no chance. We'll keep looking around and see what comes up."
Udinese midfielder Sully Muntari is one player, however, who is likely to end up playing for Pompey next season.
Portsmouth are also one of the clubs interested in signing Seville striker Kepo Blanco, currently on loan at West Ham.
Norwich will not have to sell top scorer Robert Earnshaw after a £2m cash injection from new directors Andrew and Sharon Turner while Reading are planning a double swoop as to strengthen their squad.
They are ready to pay £2.5m for Luton defender Leon Barnett and £3m Arsenal for youngster Fabrice Muamba, who is wanted by Birmingham where he has enjoyed a successful spell on loan this term.
Martin Albrechtsen has insisted he will only stay at West Brom if they are promoted to the Premiership while Watford defender Danny Shittu also wants to play in the top flight and could head to Upton Park if they avoid releagtion.
Former Bolton defender Bruno N'Gotty may also be on the move. He has admitted he may leave Birmingham in the summer despite the fact they have been promoted from the Championship.
Rumour of the day: Arsenal will challenge Real Madrid in the battle for Barcelona's out-of-favour striker Javier Saviola.
No chance: Scott Carson will not be staying at Liverpool after the Anfield club admitted they will listen to £4million offers for the England goalkeeper.
