QPR move into pole for Palace star Morrison after he turns down Coventry

Clinton Morrison is set to turn down a free transfer to Coventry. The Crystal Palace striker held talks with Sky Blues chief Chris Coleman over a move but would prefer to stay in the south-east where his family is settled.

Queens Park Rangers, managed by former Palace boss Iain Dowie, could now land Morrison after being linked with a move last month.

The 29-year-old is out of contract having not signed a two-year offer from Palace.
