QPR wait on Italian

Italian Francesco Guidolin will be appointed manager of Queens Park Rangers if he can resolve a contract issue with his former club Palermo.

The 52-year-old remains under contract with the Serie A side despite his second spell there coming to an end in May.

In limbo: Francesco Guidolin has issues to resolve with Palermo

He has told QPR he cannot accept their offer until the issue with Palermo is resolved.

Nevertheless, the London club's new Flavio Briatore-led board are confident Guidolin will be confirmed as manager before the home fixture against Ipswich a week on Saturday.

They have already appointed another Italian, Francesco Ceravola, who worked for Juventus for 14 years, as the new chief scout.
