The popular 45-year-old Scot, currently riding out and acting as assistant to Lambourn trainer John Hills, has had his appetite for riding restored after two slipped discs were diagnosed over the winter.
Scroll down to read more:
Quinn, winner of the 1990 St Leger on Snurge and the 2000 Oaks on Love Divine, hung up his boots just before Royal Ascot last year.
Since then he has almost completed a Monty Roberts (horse whisperer's) course and on February 1 began working for Hills.
He said yesterday: "I am enjoying riding for John Hills and you can never say never in this game. When you are in pain you are never happy and I realise that I wasn't right last year.
"I have now completed a course of exercise and I feel wonderful again. I am enjoying what I am doing at John's but if the time is right I'll consider getting my licence back."
Meanwhile, Major Cadeaux has returned home to Richard Hannon's in fine form following his impressive dismissal of Dutch Art in the Greenham Stakes at Newbury on Saturday.
Richard Hannon junior said yesterday: "Major Cadeaux has had a walk and a trot this morning. I don't think the horse has been given the credit he deserved, beating a dual Group One winner as he did. He's done really well from two to three — the best I've seen."
Peter Chapple-Hyam, who felt that Dutch Art would improve for the race, believes his horse will be spot on for the Guineas at Newmarket on May 5.
Aidan O'Brien's leading Epsom Derby contender Macarthur could only finish third behind Mores Wells in the Ballysax Stakes at Leopardstown yesterday. His price is now 12-1 from 13-2 with Hills.
