Rae rages at McDonald's 'bad advice' as midfielder leaves Dundee for Burnley

Angry: Rae
Dundee boss Alex Rae last night watched Kevin McDonald head for Burnley - then launched a stinging attack on agent Charlie Duddy for selling him short.
The Dark Blues, who will bank £250,000 initially with the fee to rise to over £400,000, have had a tempestuous relationship with Duddy over the past few years and Rae broke off from wishing McDonald well in his new venture to criticise his adviser.
He claimed that Duddy had become 'star struck' and had not considered his client's best interests when negotiating with Owen Coyle's side, even though the player and his family agreed a move to Turf Moor was right.
Dundee claim another club, believed to be Norwich City, were interested in taking the Scotland Under-21 international to the Coca-Cola Championship.
Rae said: 'I have the highest regard for Kevin as a player and I would have loved to have kept him but, obviously, in the present climate, it's a good deal for us financially. I just think he has been badly advised by his agent.
'There were other clubs in England - bigger clubs, in my opinion - that came in for him.
'His agent has obviously seen the first deal on the table and thought: "Gie's the dosh". I think the guy has got a bit star struck and not done Kevin any justice.'
