Rain washes out Haydock meetings

Haydock have abandoned the meetings planned for today and tomorrow due to a waterlogged track.

Clerk of the course Kirkland Tellwright had planned to hold an 8am inspection to determine their prospects but further overnight rain forced an earlier decision.

He said: "We have abandoned. We have had 12 millimetres of rain and it is still raining now.

"The weather is not forecast to improve sufficiently to make it worth persevering."
