Not interested: Ramos has denied he wants to sign Luis Garcia
Tottenham manager Juande Ramos has dismissed reports that he plans to make a move for Espanyol striker Luis Garcia.
The Spanish club themselves claimed Spurs were among a group of clubs who were ready to bid for the 27-year-old who is rated in the £10million bracket.
But Ramos said: ' There’s never been anything with Luis Garcia,' he told Sport.es. 'Somebody launched the rumour and everybody used it, but there’s nothing. He’ll not sign.'
'Loads of things are said, but the major part of it is not true,' he said. 'We know who our targets are and what the others say is not our problem.
'They have linked me to 40 players since I arrived, but not one of them signed; there’s lots of speculation in this world.'
Summer signing: Ramos is delighted he secured Modric's signature before Euro 2008
The Spurs boss also said that he was delighted with Spurs' capture this summer of Croatian star Luka Modric and Mexican starlet Giovani dos Santos and added that he expected a bright future for the highly-rated prospects at White Hart Lane.
'We signed this player before Euros because we knew his price could rise, and we expect a lot from him,' Ramos told AS.
'Our idea was the same when we signed Giovani. It’s an attractive addition to the squad, done in a logical way, and with which we are hopeful we will compete against the best teams.'
