Ranieri holds City talks

Claudio Ranieri held talks in London on Tuesday with representatives of the consortium trying to buy Manchester City, which is led by former Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

Although the former Chelsea coach would not give any guarantees, he has spoken to friends in Italy of his admiration for City and their supporters.

Ranieri's contract runs out next month and he will meet Parma bosses tomorrow to discuss his future.

Even though Ranieri, 56, has indicated he would be happy to stay at Parma, club president Tommaso Ghirardi admitted: "Claudio is fascinated by English football and this is no secret. He is tempted by the idea of going to England but we will try to keep him."
