The Reading winger sat out both of today's training sessions at Gannon Park, Malahide, and was released from the Ireland squad by Giovanni Trapattoni last night after the Irish medical team decided he had no chance of being fit for the visit to Craven Cottage.

Richard Dunne also sat out the double session with a bruised foot but Trapattoni said he has a 90 per cent chance of playing.
Hunt's place is likely to go to Celtic winger Aiden McGeady, who trained with the squad for the first time following his side's Scottish league triumph, with Champions League winner John O'Shea also certain to start after sitting out Saturday's 1-1 draw with Serbia.
McGeady impressed Trapattoni yesterday and is keen to kick-start his Ireland career after he was named his fellow professionals' player of the season in Scotland.
Trapattoni said: "I saw McGeady in training for the first time and he did really well and may be he will start against Colombia, but he will play at some stage."
