Real Madrid bad-boy Pepe in threat to call it a day

Real Madrid's Pepe has admitted he is so disillusioned with football that he may quit the game.

His threat followed his shocking conduct during Tuesday's derby with Getafe when the defender was dismissed after twice kicking at the prone Javier Casquero, who he had pushed over to concede a late penalty. He also struck Juan Albin in the face.

Pepe said: "It's been the worst day of my life as a player and as a person.

"I'm devastated. If I feel I'm not in the right state to return to playing, I will try to do something else to support my family."
