Real Madrid are planning to name Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo as the club's new £70million world-record signing on Monday, July 7.
United have insisted Ronaldo is not for sale at any price but the Spanish giants believe the 23-year-old will be at the Bernabeu within the next fortnight, according to The Daily Mirror.
The Portuguese is not due back for pre-season training with United until July 14 but Real are anxious manager Sir Alex Ferguson does not get the chance to persuade him to stay at Old Trafford.
Adios: Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to leave Manchester United and join Real Madrid.
The La Liga champions, therefore, have set a deadline of July 7 to seal Ronaldo's signature.
Ronaldo is on holiday but Real want him to slap in a transfer request as soon as possible, so they can submit a formal bid and end the long-running saga.
Fergie's No.2 Carlos Queiroz has warned Ronaldo he would regret leaving United and will not get the "affection" he craves at Real.
"Manchester United is very special," said Queiroz.
"Because of that we know how to surround Cristiano completely with all the affection and all the attention he deserves."
