Record signing Bent tells Tottenham: I'm happy here and have no intention of leaving

Darren Bent has gunned down claims he wants to quit Spurs just a few months after becoming their record signing.

The £16.5million summer capture from Charlton Athletic was given a rare start at Middlesbrough on Saturday and responded by slotting in the first goal in the Juande Ramos era as Tottenham moved out of the bottom three thanks to a point from the 1-1 draw on Teesside.

And Bent then told the official Spurs website: "I am happy and settled at Spurs and stories that are saying otherwise could not be further from the truth.

"I am determined to establish myself in this team - that is the only thing I am focused on. I want to make an impact and do what I was brought here to do, which is score goals."
