Redknapp tells Ferguson and Scolari: My missus could do your jobs

Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp reckons his wife Sandra could do Sir Alex Ferguson and Luiz Felipe Scolari's jobs at Manchester United and Chelsea respectively.

Redknapp insists managing mega-rich clubs like United and Chelsea who have vast transfer budgets is so easy his missus could do it, reports The Sun.

'Any mug can go and buy loads of players for £20-30million,' he said.

Easy: Harry Redknapp shakes hand with Luiz Felipe Scolari after losing 4-0 to Chelsea on the opening day of the season in the Premier League.

We could all buy the best players in the world if we had an open cheque book — my wife could go and buy Kaka.

'But what I’m doing is called managing a football club.

'I love looking around for loans and free transfers. I really enjoy that side of the job because that is real managing.

'So I will carry on trying to beg, borrow and steal to get one or two bodies who might do well for us.

'Clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea don’t have to do that — good luck to them.'
