Rinaldi is forced to quit Quins

French rugby league international Julien Rinaldi is looking for a new Super League club after being told he will not be offered a new contract by Harlequins.

The 29-year-old hooker has made 50 appearances for Quins since joining them from Catalans Dragons two years ago but has become a victim of the clampdown on overseas players.

"I am disappointed," said Rinaldi. "I'm hoping to secure my future in the coming weeks."

Rinaldi has fallen victim to the Rugby Football League's decision to reduce the number of foreign players in Super League. From next year clubs can have only eight overseas players in their 25-man squads.

Australian Mark McLinden was released from the final year of his contract with Quins last week.
