Rob Andrew gets shirty over All Black McCaw's rule-breaking

England took a swipe at Richie McCaw in his home town yesterday, accusing New Zealand's revered captain of repeatedly breaking the law.

After the capitulation in Auckland, acting England manager Rob Andrew raised the temperature over Saturday's return here.

'I'm going to give Richie McCaw an England shirt so he can come in from the right side,' he said by way of euphemistic reference to the flanker's masterful negotiation of the off-side line.

Far from killing the Kiwis with kindness by praising the explosive athleticism of their superior back-line, Andrew lobbed a few more jibes in their direction, questioning why Welsh referee Nigel Owens was in the All Blacks hotel prior to last week's Test and mocking them for being World Cup chokers.

'It used to be said that we were very good at peaking between World Cups,' said Andrew.

'Maybe we've passed that baton on.'

England will be without giant prop Andrew Sheridan for the second Test after catching a stray stud so close to his left eye that he needed 10 stitches to repair the eyelid.

Wasps' Tim Payne is set to step in for his fourth cap..

Neath scrum half Gareth Jones, 28, has died, two months after suffering a serious neck injury during a Welsh Premiership match against Cardiff on April 20.
