Robbo howler - Auf wiedersehen for England's blundering goalkeeper

England deserved a ninth-minute lead when Frank Lampard finished a wellworked move but they lost for the first time at the new Wembley stadium when Robinson made another mistake.

Robinson in blunderland: the England goalkeeper makes a complete hash of Schneider's cross (above), leaving the way clear for Kuranyi to tap home an easy equaliser (below)
The Tottenham goalkeeper was caught out of position on a cross and palmed the ball down for Kevin Kuranyi to equalise in the 26th minute.
Christian Pander scored their winner five minutes before the break.
Portsmouth keeper David James, who won his first cap since the 3-2 victory over Colombia before the 2006 World Cup, replaced Robinson in the second half but also looked uncertain.
Robinson admitted: "Do I worry about my place? Of course I do. I'm very disappointed about the way I played. I'm disappointed with the first goal. I got myself in a reasonable position for the ball to be crossed. I was unlucky on two counts.
"The ball ended up in the top left-hand corner from the touchline and from there it ended up going straight to their player.
"People won't show sympathy and you can understand why and I'm hurting this evening. David has played consistently well this year and fully deserved his chance to come back into the squad again.
"I have started the season really well for Tottenham. My own form has been good, it's just a little setback tonight."
Robinson was held responsible for England's defeat in Croatia last October when his air-shot at Gary Neville's backpass resulted in an own goal and Steve McClaren's side cannot afford any errors against Israel and Russia.
McClaren, who claimed he wanted to make Wembley a fortress before the friendly against their old rivals, said: "You have to reflect on performances.
"It was decided beforehand that they'd have a half each. I can't make any public comments about any of the goalkeepers, or any of the outfield players over what happens in the next two or three weeks.
"I haven't had a chance to look at it in detail. But of course I'm disappointed to have conceded that goal. It may have been a mistake, but there were two or three mistakes before that which I'm disappointed with. I'm disappointed with both the goals."
England created enough chances, and any one of Michael Owen, Shaun Wright-Phillips, John Terry or Lampard could have won the game.
Not again: Robinson looks mortified after letting in Germany's first
McClaren added: "I'd be more disappointed if we didn't create the chances. On another night, we'd have tucked them away. That was Michael's first start and Germany at Wembley is a tough start. He'll be sharper in two or three weeks.
"It was an ideal game for us, a tough game, a hard game. I was delighted with the majority of the performance, we created the chances."
