Robin van Persie no closer to deal

Manager Arsene Wenger has made no secret of his desire to tie up the long-term future of the Dutch striker, whose current contract expires in 2011.
Initial discussions have been going on for some time but Van Persie said: "The club and I have not been able to make any headway."
The 25-year-old claims he is satisfied with his own efforts this season but admits the failure to end a four-year wait for honours has overshadowed the personal progress he feels he has made.
He added: "My aim was to play as many matches as possible and I achieved it by taking part in 44 games. I am also happy with my number of goals and assists.
"But the one blemish is that we have not won anything. Lifting a trophy, and the feeling that gives you, is what football is all about."
