Robins finds plenty to smile about as Millers see off Owls in penalty shoot-out

Mark Robins has had little to smile about lately but his luck changed in dramatic fashion at Hillsborough, where Rotherham United knocked out neighbours Sheffield Wednesday to secure a place in the next round.
Rotherham started the League One season with a 17-point deduction following administration and have been forced to leave Millmoor for the Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield.
The troubled club put all this behind them last night, however, with a shock win following a penalty shoot out which saw Owls hero Etienne Esajas rue the fact he had scored a brace of goals to miss the crucial spot kick and allow Robins' men to progress.
Rare good night: Mark Robins
The visitors came from behind twice courtesy of equalisers from Alex Rhodes just 30 seconds after Esajas' opening strike and then Reuben Reid in extra time.
Even the dismissal of Marc Joseph in the 115th minute before to Esajas' second goal failed to dampen the Millers' spirits and the minnows earned rich praise from Robins.
He said: 'I'm delighted for the lads because they showed great character to come back not once, but twice. We've not had a good cup run for ages and hopefully this could be the start of one.
'They've all worked their socks off because they were under pressure for large spells, as expected against a team that has made such a good start to the Championship season. This should give us all a lift and something to build on.
'It's a bright new dawn for the club, although one good result like this doesn't mean we have to get carried away.'
