His new side will take on Poland's Wisla Krakow following today's UEFA Cup draw in Monaco. The arrival of Pavlyuchenko could help push through Dimitar Berbatov's £28m switch to Manchester United. It is a move that can't come soon enough for ex-Spurs goalkeeping coach Hans Segers, who today revealed that Berbatov has caused unrest in the dressing room for over a year.
He said: "What has been going on isn't good. Berbatov is a big sulker."
Meanwhile, Everton were handed arguably the toughest tie for British clubs in today's first-round UEFA Cup draw when they were paired at home with Belgium's Standard Liege.
Selected other ties: Portsmouth v Guimaraes, Manchester City v AC Omonia, Litex Lovech v Aston Villa, Nancy v Motherwell and Hertha Berlin v St Patricks.
