Ronaldinho: I will punish Ibrox men for PSG shocker

The Brazilian playmaker still bears a grudge after a star-studded Paris St-Germain side in which he featured were beaten by Rangers in the UEFA Cup six years ago.
And, because of that, the superstar has revealed he is hell bent on putting one over on Walter Smith's side in tonight's vital Champions League encounter. As he flew into Glasgow yesterday, it was obvious the defeat had not been forgotten and revenge was the only thing on his mind.
Ronaldinho said: "The defeat that night was an incredible disappointment. We couldn't believe we had gone out with such a talented team. The bad feeling still lives with me. I remember it as a really tough night. Rangers made it so difficult. Now I would like revenge. I owe them one."
The game that still eats away at Ronaldinho came six years ago when Dick Advocaat was in charge of Rangers and he was a young, up-and-coming player in the French league.
At the tender age of just 21, he lined up alongside the likes of Nicolas Anelka and Jay-Jay Okocha in the PSG team that drew 0-0 at Ibrox in November 2007.
Ronaldinho thought that the away draw would be enough to take his team through but he did not count on the resolve of Rangers, who drew 0-0 after 90 minutes in the return leg in Paris. There were few chances created in extra-time and it was Rangers who held their nerve the best to run out 4-3 winners in the penalty shootout.
The result has remained a bitter pill for Ronaldinho to swallow for all these years and it is clear he sees tonight as his chance to get even.
As it is, the spotlight has been turned on the Barca hero even more tonight after reports from Brazil suggested he arrived back late to the Barcelona training camp following nightclub shenanigans after a 5-0 midweek international victory over Ecuador.
He did not play in the 3-1 defeat to Villarreal on Saturday and, when he arrived at Glasgow Airport yesterday, was bundled by security men through the waiting crowds and onto the team bus.
The Catalan outfit arrived in Scotland without a number of top players, including Deco, Samuel Eto'o, Edmilson and Gianluca Zambrotta, who are all injured.
Their absence and the controversy over Ronaldinho's late return from Brazil to Spain means the spotlight will shine even brighter tonight on him as he sets out on his revenge mission.
