Roxburgh raves about Arshavin's role in the Russian revolution

Andrei Arshavin has been singled out for praise by UEFA technical director Andy Roxburgh after making an impact with Russia at Euro 2008.
Arshavin, the 27-year-old Zenit St Petersburg playmaker, has returned from suspension to score two in two games so far to help his country reach the semi-finals.
He is almost certain to be included in the 23-man squad of the tournament, selected by Roxburgh and the other eight members of the technical committee.

Dutch destroyer: Arshavin took Holland apart in the last eight
'Arshavin has come on the scene, he wasn't available for the first two games, and his introduction has been like a spark of magic,' said Roxburgh, the former Scotland manager.
'He's ignited them, making a good team even better. To blossom the way Russia did in the last game against Holland made everyone sit up and ask if they can go all the way.'
Roxburgh has also been impressed with Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack, who has helped fire Germany into the last four.
'Against Portugal suddenly Ballack was given the free-spirit role,' Roxburgh added. 'He had played well in the tournament but in this game he came to life.
'In tournament play Germany know what they are doing. They are well organised and their preparation is excellent.
'You can never count against them but also, how can you bet against Turkey after what they've done?'
