Look at the stats, Jim Telfer, they will tell you how well I'm doing

I am not interested in getting involved in a slanging match with anyone in the build-up to this match but while Jim has a great rugby pedigree, would he have said that if it wasn't Scotland versus England at Murrayfield tomorrow?
I'm not going to respond to Jim's comments but I know from the statistics produced for the 2010 RBS Six Nations that I have made more line breaks than anyone and only two players have beaten more defenders than me — so I must be doing a fairly decent job.
I am a threat going forward and just because someone has said something negative, I will not be doubting myself going into this game.
I accept that I have yet to realise my potential in this Six Nations, which makes me even more determined to produce the goods against Scotland.
Plus there is huge pressure for places from players like Chris Ashton of Northampton Saints.
The toughest challenge in Test rugby is to go on to that pitch and do your job in the heat of what will be a massive battle with Scotland at Murrayfield and this will be my first game for England at the stadium.
My Harlequins team-mate Nick Easter has played in the last two matches there and told me it is a very hostile atmosphere. I love that kind of arena.
I get really motivated when the crowd are against me and I have no problem with the fans booing me in an opposition stadium because it gives you something tangible to feed off.
You can talk about Murrayfield being a fortress and, amid the hype, you have to remember we are not going there to play a stadium — we are taking on 15 highly-motivated Scots who have played really well despite losing all three games.
They lost by small margins and that sums up the intensity and quality of this championship.
They have a great pack, very strong back-row and game breakers in the backs — I look forward to that challenge — and their record is pretty good at Murrayfield.
We had to get rid of the frustration from the Ireland defeat quickly because, before you know it, there is another big game. We have been very honest with each other about where the Irish game was lost.
There are always two options after a defeat; beat yourself up and do nothing or beat yourself up and work really hard to put things right and you an be sure we have done the latter.
We have to win our individual battles with the opposition, trust in the rest of the team and hope it will be a good day for us.
I am aware of what a win could mean in terms of going to Paris to face France in the final match, but no one in this England team is thinking past Scotland.
This is a huge test and if anyone has a bad game at Murrayfield they won't be travelling to Paris so the priority is to be a highly effective cog in a very good England machine against Scotland.
