Sarries had considered ground-sharing with Harlequins, Northampton or the MK Dons temporarily but have opted for continuity by signing a short-term agreement with the Championship football side.
The deal is for at least 10 games although Saracens, who have been at Vicarage Road since 1997, will be able to stay there longer if there are delays in transforming their new home.
The Barnet Copthall application is going through the local council planning process but the club hope to have their new ground with a state-of-the-art artificial pitch in January.
Sarries, who face a Premiership semi-final play off against Gloucester on Sunday at Watford, picked up three honours at the Aviva Premiership Rugby Awards in London last night.
Schalk Brits won Try of the Season - scored in last month's win over Gloucester - but came third in the Player of the Season category, behind winner Tom Wood of Northampton and Saints prop Brian Mujati.
Sarries' Hayden Smith took the Community Player of the Season award for his work on the 'Hitz' programme, a rugby coaching initiative that helps children in some of London's most deprived boroughs. Scrum-half Kevin Barrett won the JP Morgan Asset Management Premiership Rugby 7s Series Player of the Season title.
Meanwhile, Sebastien Chabal has been left out of France's provisional 32-man squad for the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand this September.
The 33-year-old No8 was one of six players dropped after France's Six Nations defeat to Italy this season.
